Welcome pattern makers! Here are some of my favorite supplies and where to find them.

These are links to some of the supplies that I suggest. Some are affiliate links and help me earn a few pennies to keep the site going. It doesn’t change your price at all.

When choosing felt, I do not recommend craft felt found by the sheet in most hobby and craft stores. This is almsot always made from synthetic materials and won’t hold up as well as a beautiful wool felt will. Wool or wool blend felt has a wonderful feel and is more dense so your knots won’t pull through. It’s not as fuzzy and makes for an heirloom quality finished product. My favorite supplier is Benzie Designs. I always order their felt by the 9×12 sheet and have plenty left over for future projects.

These are the cotton pipe cleaners I recommend. I know, you only need 1 right now, but you’ll use more if you continue the nativity collection.

I LOVE these scissors. They’re all I use and I have several pairs of fancy Ginghers.

I highly recommend the OttLite brand for lighting. I have 3 of them in varying styles!

I don’t know WHY I waited so long to buy this. It’s now one of my favorite things. So much better than lugging out the big iron.

Necessary, to make sure the base is weighted. Be sure to check it against the price of the bag to the right. They like ot fluctuate in price.

Same only smaller and sometimes more expensive, but you dont need much.

The original fluff. I love the consistently smooth quality. Never lumpy.

Nice small trial sizes that fit well in your sewing kit.

Used to seal the wooden bead if not using a Posca pen.

You don’t need the white, but they’re sold as a set and will probably come in handy one day.

25 mm beads. Okay, I KNOW you don’t need 65, but here they are. Share with a friend! Or paint and make a fun Christmas garland!

Very handy, but a piece of paper rolled into a cone works too!

Everyone needs beautiful pearl headed pins in their life! Treat yourself!

If you opt not to use the freezer paper method.

Not essential but very nice to have to assist with
stuffing and holding things in place. Great to assist if you have long fingernails.

Because I love Aleen’s products, I plan to try this when my other bottle runs out.

I couldn’t live without my lap desk. This is the one I use and why some of my picture backgrounds are pink!

This is the best! The OG. I’ve tried other brands and they wouldn’t soak off cleanly. It basically ruined my pieces.

This is the thinnner one that we double. It comes in lots of beautuful colors. Grande is the thicker one.

These will last you a LONG time. If you can share with a friend, do that!

This is the Pearl Cotton that I recommend for hair. I love the variegated color ones. Amazon doesn’t have a great selection of colors and they’re a little pricier. Check your hobby/craft store.

Gold 2mm rope for Angel belt. You can probably find on sale at your craft shop for less. You could also use satin cord.

If you like to keep costs down though, be sure to compare with Michael’s or another hobby store. I know most people don’t need 65 25mm wooden beads. You can get a smaller quantity from Michael’s. Posca and Pitt pens can also be bought individually there.
